About Us

Our 10 year old son, Aaryan is the light in our lives.  He has the ability to bring a smile to our faces, no matter when or where. Throughout his life, he has been an active playful child -  baseball games, soccer tournaments and of course, video games.  His consideration for others is astronomical, caring and concerned for others before himself.

Early this November, we noticed bruising on Aaryan, but had dismissed them as we knew our boy was being a typical boy.  As each day passed, more and more bruising became more visible. On November 13, 2015 Aaryan experienced extensive gum bleeding and was brought to Sick Kids – Emergency Department.  After numerous rounds of blood work, Aaryan was admitted into Sick Kids for life threatening low blood counts.  During his stay, Aaryan received numerous blood transfusions and a bone marrow aspiration / biopsy.  Results came back and we were devastated to find out our son was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia.

For the next several months, Aaryan will be returning to Sick Kids twice a week for routine blood work and blood transfusions. Without the transfusions, Aaryan becomes vulnerable to infections (viral and bacterial)  and hemorrhaging (external and internal).  Even though there are Drug Therapy treatments available for this condition, his best chance of a CURE is through a bone marrow transplant.  As Aaryan is an only child, his best chance for a bone marrow donor match is through the registries.

Aaryan has continued to show his strength and bravery over the past several weeks. And we need your help to secure a match for him, so he can continue to spread his light onto every person he meets. A special thanks to the team at Sick Kids for the continuing care and effort to help Aaryan. To our Family and Friends, words cannot express our gratitude to you for all you have done and continue to do.  You have been our strength during this difficult time, but together, we will overcome this!

To everyone out there, whom we have not met and have shown your kindness and willingness to help –

With so much love,

 Khalid, Jenny, and Aaryan

Unfortunately, Aaryan was admitted to the emergency at Sick Kids hospital on December 9th. After numerous testings, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for life threatening low blood levels and internal hemorrhaging. The medical team worked diligently to stabilize him and after an anguishing 4 days, he was cleared to be transferred to the Hematology ward.  He is currently under the care of the wonderful team here and we continue to fight this battle against Aplastic Anemia.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers and help us share Aaryan's story. Encourage others to be a registered bone marrow donor and give blood- "it's in you to give"

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.  May 2016 bring you much love, health and success.

Our 2016 began with some good news. Aaryan was discharged yesterday evening to come home to bring in the new year.  The doctors were able to keep Aaryan's blood counts at a safe level, but we will be returning  back to the hospital on Saturday.  We cannot thank everyone enough for all the countless prayers and kindness over the past couple of months.

To the medical team @SickKids you are miracle workers. We are in awe of what you have done and will continue to do to help Aaryan beat #aplasticanemia.

To our family and friends - we are blessed to have you in our lives. Love you all so much.

Though 2016 did start off in a positive note, we know that our road ahead to finding a #match4aary is still a long and difficult journey. We continue to ask everyone to keep us in your prayers and help us spread the awareness and share Aaryan's story.

Let's #cometogether and make a difference!!

With so much love ,

Khalid and Jenny
